Nativity

After the fantastic success of the KS1 and Early Years Nativity productions of the 'Bethlehem Bake-Off Nativity', Mrs Newton led the whole school in a Christingle-making session.

What does a Christingle represent?

Christingles are used by some Christian people in church during the time of Advent, to celebrate the birth of Jesus and Jesus as the Light of the World. The word Christingle means 'Christ's light'. The fruit orange represents the whole world. The red ribbon/tape reminds us of God's love and the blood that Jesus shed for us. The four sticks of sweets and fruit remind us of the four seasons and the good gifts God gives us and the candle represents Jesus: the light of the world.

And on the very last day of term, we all came to school in non-uniform, pyjama-themed and Christmassy clothing and had a special visit to Santa's grotto. We saw the man himself, who kindly handed out a Christmas gift to everyone, helped by his trusty elf.
