Humanist Visit

Humanists UKHumanist Visitor

Bob Kibble came to visit each of the schools in the federation; he belongs to the Humanist community. He shared his beliefs and the theology/philosophy behind this with the children from Year 1 upwards. The children enjoyed listening to how his beliefs help him to try to live a happy and full life. Our children then worked in groups to make connections between their knowledge of faith and religions, and the views of a humanist.

Hadley’s review: ‘Bob Kiddle came in on Thursday and explained to us why he was a humanist. He also went through his personal beliefs and gave a reasoning behind each one. I found it quite interesting because I never knew that a humanist was an actual thing! As well as everything else he went through, he also mentioned the ‘big questions’ like “Who created the earth?”

‘Yesterday, a humanist came in. His name was Bob and he was really interesting. Bob talked about the big questions of the world like ’How was the world made?’ He did not answer this question but made us wonder. He also talked about how we should treat other people, how we want to be treated. All of this was to do with him being a humanist and what they believe’, reported Amelie.
