Burton Salmon School Council have organised Christmas parties across the school to be held on Friday 20th December. Party wear may be brought into school in a named bag and the children will change into this after lunch. The children will be taking part in party games during the afternoon, so please ensure that appropriate footwear is worn. Santa will be joining us in school on this day too with gifts for all the children, if he is not too busy!
Year 5 & 6 The Year 6 girls at Burton Salmon have put in a request to Mrs MacDonald for a federation Upper KS2 party this year and we are pleased to announce we have organised this for our Year 5 & 6 children. On Friday 20th December our Year 5/6 children from across the federation will be joining together at Chapel Haddlesey Village Hall for a Christmas party. A coach has been booked to transport the children from Burton Salmon and Barlow Schools to the party and Mrs MacDonald will be accompanying our children. This is a great opportunity for our Year 5 & 6 to meet again and get to know each other before the France visit and moving up to high school. We are looking forward to hearing about the new friendships which such events will form across our federation.
Year 3 & 4 will have a party in Class Two, and Class One will assemble in their own classroom for party games and dancing organised by School Council. The School Council are currently making games for children to play and organising a play list for music - should your child have a favourite song they wish to add to the list please return the slip below by Monday 16th December so it can be added to the list.
School Council have also asked for donations of unwanted Christmas decorations or balloons to help them put on a show stopping Christmas party.
We are asking for parents to donate food for the parties. Please could class one bring in sweet treats such as cake, buns or biscuits and please could class two bring in savoury snacks such as sausage rolls, crisps or cocktail sausages? Our party food will take the form of a buffet, so please could you ensure that food is suitable for this purpose, i.e to be finger food. If you are sending containers in with your food, please ensure that your child’s name is clearly marked. We appreciate your help with this.
As some children in school have allergies and intolerances please see the list of ingredients or items to avoid:
 No nuts in any form
 No celery in any form
 No strawberries in any form
Please can our parents of gluten-free and dairy-free children send something in that would be suitable for them to eat in a named container.
Many thanks from the School Council
