Bean Bag Rounders

The children in Year 1 recently competed in a PE cluster event at Tockwith Primary School – Bean Bag Rounders. This is a twist on the normal game of rounders but using bean bags instead. It is a great game for improving children’s throwing and catching skills and helps to demonstrate teamwork. There were five schools competing (on an extremely hot and sunny day) including our federated school, Barlow, with Tockwith Primary crowned as the winners.

Oscar said: ‘I liked running around and I was having fun.’

This is how Ace described the event: ‘I was very fast and scored 2 rounders – I liked It!’

And Devon enjoyed it ‘when we had to catch the beanbag and run very fast back to the line.’
