Cycling for Ukraine

Hattie from Class 2 has a God-Mother who is Ukrainian. She is safe in the UK, but her family are all still in Kyiv. After the recent war situation was explained to Hattie, she felt compelled to help the children in Ukraine.

After much consideration, she decided she wanted to raise money by cycling a sponsored 5 mile bike ride with all proceeds going to a children’s hospital in Ukraine. Her class friend India also offered to ride with Hattie, in support of such a great cause.

The 5 mile bike ride was from Burton Salmon to Birkin and took place on Saturday 19th March. The girls did so well; it was a huge challenge for them. Despite struggling a little around mile 4, they were a tremendous support to each other and the girls crossed the finish line after 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Together, they have raised an amazing amount of over £1250.00 with donations still coming in!

We're sure you'll all agree that this has been a fantastic challenge for charity. We are so proud of Hattie and India and their amazing achievement. Well done!

The money will make such a huge difference to the children's hospital in Ukraine.
