Last week Class 2 conducted some very important science experiments! Ruby and Hadley have written a few sentences about what they got up to in their lessons:

On Friday the 11th of June we put a square of chocolate in our mouth to see how the enzymes in our saliva start to break food down. We looked at different types of animal teeth with Miss Potts; a messy experiment with Miss Bowers and then we went on to BBC Bitesize to do a food chain game. We then had paper plates to draw pictures of healthy food on,’ said Ruby.

Hadley wrote: ‘Today we started by doing a bread experiment where we chewed some bread and found out that the enzymes in our saliva make the bread taste sweet. The next thing we did was a messy experiment – we used crackers and orange juice and mushed them together in a bag to represent what happens when we chew our food. We poured this mix into a pair of tights, which looked like an intestine.’
