5 members from Class 3: Daisy M, Violet-Evie, Grace G, Ellisia and Daisy B travelled with Mrs Smith and other children and staff from the federation; to take part in the annual debating competition which was held in the Selby Council Chambers. There were 4 district Councillors judging the debate between the 10 teams and there was a large audience! Our debating topic which the girls had been preparing for, was ‘Does the Internet do more harm than good?’ Whilst the children were a little nervous before they went in, they spoke very clearly, with no stumbles and maintained eye contact with the audience. Well done to all of you! We hope it’s given you a taste of public speaking!
