This week the Childcare Bubble have experimented with puff painting. They continued with their space theme, by drawing outlines of aliens, stars and planets and then decorated them with Miss Northway's Puff Paint recipe in bright colours.
Recipe to try out at home:
1 cup of plain flour
3 tbsp of baking soda
3 tbsp of salt
Food colourings of your choice
Enough water to mix into a paste - the consistency of pancake batter
Once the paste has been added to the picture, you will need to carefully place this in the microwave (yes, microwave!) for 10-30 seconds, until the window starts to steam up. Please be careful when removing from the microwave, as it will be hot. You will need to allow this to cool down, but notice how the paint has formed into raised, puffy bubbles.
