Swimming Letter for years 2 to 6

Swimming Lessons
Starting the 8th January 2020, we will be taking our Years 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 pupils to Selby Leisure Centre for swimming lessons on Wednesday afternoons. This facility has two pools and can accommodate all levels and abilities. The centre also provides specialist instructors with school staff supporting.
This year, the lessons run for 50 minutes, which is double the length of time offered in previous years. They will start on the first Wednesday back, the 8th January and end on Wednesday 4th March. As the session in the pool runs from 2.00pm to 2.50pm, the children will arrive back to school at the later time of 3.30pm on these afternoons.
We are very grateful to FOBBs who have donated £300 towards the cost of the pool hire, instructors and coach travel. We are kindly requesting voluntary donations of £4 per child per session towards the full cost, which can be paid weekly or in full on ParentPay. Group swimming lessons at Selby currently cost £56.50 for a block of ten.
Pupils will need to bring a swimming costume/trunks and a towel in a separate waterproof bag, ensuring any kit is labelled with their name. Pupils can wear a swimming cap if they wish. Please note, no jewellery is permitted. They will also need a warm coat for travelling to and from the centre.
In order that we can group the children into abilities, please can you return the slip at the end of this letter or email in with the information. If you have any questions at all, please do speak to a member of school staff.
